Ondřej Hložek

Born in Opava in 1986, Ondřej Hložek studied Czech language at the Silesian University in Opava. He is an active musician, artist, journalist and a poet. He published collections such as Tížiny (Weighs, 2011), Domů (Home, 2013), Ulicí Dolorosa (Via Dolorosa Street, 2017), Teď (Now, 2017) and Řez kamenem (A Cut Through Stone, 2019) and the children’s book Na vratkých nohou (On Shaky Legs, 2020). “Silesia is my home, nobody will take it away from me,” he says about his homeland.
